SWITZERLAND TRAVEL GUIDE

As one of Europe’s most expensive country, Switzerland is often overlooked by many budget travelers. There is here, I can tell you that before you exit the train station, you begin to wonder “how the heck did I spend so much money?!” But that being said, Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places on earth – his house to the lake, picturesque mountains, the medieval town walled small, towering peaks, beautiful churches, and endless green fields you want to run through.Everything runs on time here, chocolate is amazing, this is a safe country, and everyone is super nice.The country rocks no matter what time of year you visit, and, because I am a budget traveler, this guide will help you to Swiss domestic travel on a budget! Typical Costs Accommodation – Hostel hostel 30 CHF per night average, and private rooms start around 75 CHF per night for a single room. Hotels can be quite expensive, and you should look to spend about 85-115 CHF per night for a double room in a budget hotel (on the low end). Geneva or Zurich, rooms start higher, starting around 100 CHF per night. A good alternative to hotels is Airnb, where a private room in someone’s home started about 50 CHF. Food – Although eating out is pricey in this country (as a comparison easily Starbucks is $ 8 USD while McDonlads $ 15 USD), you can keep your budget in check by going to the local supermarket grocery store and buy your own. You will spend approximately 50-100 CHF per week for the basics like pasta, bread ingredients, sauces, rice, eggs, and fruit and vegetables. Supermarkets also sell are made before meals for between CHF 5-9. Bars and cafes is the cheapest food choices, costs about 9-15 CHF a special lunch. Restaurant with table service is approximately 20 CHF 40 CHF for lunch and for dinner (starter, main, and drink) to start (the price goes up from there, and I saw some restaurant reviews ask for a 35 CHF main course). You will often find pizza for around 20 CHF in a restaurant. If you’re eating out (but still try to stick to the budget), you will spend an average of 45 CHF per day on food. From there, the sky is the limit! For self-serve regular meals out, expect to spend about 20 CHF for a day. Transportation costs – ocal bus around the city and town from 2.50 to 4.50 CHF price, depending on the length of time and number of regions you travel. Intercity train costs a lot money. For example, Bern to Geneva (a two-hour boat) Price 50 CHF! Expect to pay anywhere between 28-50 CHF for a second class train ticket between the cities. Also, do not forget to check the federal Parliament.
