Wine, cheese, the Eiffel Tower, the snooty waiter-France is famous for lots of things, and it happens to be one of my favorite countries in the world. It’s beautiful, delicious food, wine, history, stories, and a carefree atmosphere. Nothing like a picnic along the river Seine or every day through the French countryside to make life seem stunning. France is everything that people make it out to be and then some. its long history lends itself to beautiful ruins, Castle, architecture and culture.Tourism in France is a very expensive work, second only to travel through Italy in the European continent. Those on a super tight budget will find it difficult (but not impossible thanks to three euros bottles of wine) to experience everything that France has to offer. Make sure that you go to France with a few Euros in your pocket, so you can soak in all of the food, the wine, and the beauty you see (although this tutorial will help you cut costs) Typical Costs
Accommodation Room dormitory will range from 15-40 EUR for a night, depending on where you are in the country, with Paris as the higher end of the day. Particularly in a dorm room will cost around 75 EUR or more. Budget hotels start around 60 euros a night for a double room. Cheaper accommodation outside Paris, Bordeaux, and French. Also look into renting a room or apartment. In an expensive city like Paris, this is the best value. Food Buy your own food can be very cheap in France. There are many stores of bread, cheese and meat around. The market is your friend! It usually select a few ingredients and have a picnic. You can make your own lunch for around 10 euros for two people including wine if you know. Pre-made cakes at the local store cheap will cost about 4-7 EUR. In contrast, eating at a restaurant will cost between 20-35 EUR for a meal including a glass of wine. If you shop for all of your food, you can expect to spend around 45-65 EUR for a weeks worth of groceries. Transportation The best way to get around France are through trains. night train costs the least, while the line of the fast TGV (high speed train) costs the most, about 90 EUR. the local transportation system is reliable and cost about 1-3 EUR for each trip. Transportation to and from the airport into the city centre is generally affordable and friendly. Expect about 12 EUR to get into Paris Charles de Gaulle. Taxis will be hard on the budget, so avoid if you can. Top Things to See and Do in France Paris Paris has everything – the Louvre, impressive museums, the Eiffel Tower, the Seine, parks, clubs, culture and great food. This list goes on and on. Paris is especially good for those who love art and food the city has a long history rich with both. (Be sure to enjoy all the wonderful pastries!) It is wonderful as they say, and while it will take a lifetime to really see it all, four or five days to give you are a good idea. This is one of my favorite cities in the world, and I always find something new when I’m here. Take your time, drink some wine, and enjoy the city of light paris D-Day beaches of Normandy Learn about WWII Allied forces landed on D-Day beaches along the northern France. There is a memorial and museum detailing the history of the event. You can still find some old bunkers and fortifications. Palace of Versailles It is very close to Paris, the former Palace of French kings built by Louis XIV. The Palace was built during the height of French power and in order to demonstrate the enormous wealth of the monarch. It is awe inspiring today as it was back then. It was used by the Kings of France until the French revolution in 1789. Palace-of-Versailles Explore the Loire Valley The Loire is lovely and picturesque, with tons of vineyards and chateaus. You will find some of the best wine in the world, the beautiful small town, and great food. This is an area not to be missed. large Drink wine in Bordeaux Some of the best wines in the world are made here. This is an expensive destination and not for someone on a tight budget, but it is beautiful and worth every Euro, you will spend! Bordeaux is one of the longest shopping streets in Europe, excellent seafood (eat at Le Petit Commerce), the beachfront access, and of course, wine. It is a great place to diverge from your backpacking. Next to Paris, which is my favorite place in France.
